Exciting Shifts in the DC and Marvel Universes: Cancellations and New Beginnings

The entertainment world is buzzing with significant updates, as DC's "Arkham Asylum" has been unexpectedly canceled, while fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming "Penguin" series. Marvel's "Captain America: Brave New World" is set to bring new adventures, and the "Supergirl" movie continues to build excitement. On the streaming front, "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" gears up for its highly anticipated second season, while the dark comedy "How to Die Alone" promises a fresh perspective. Additionally, the character LOBO is generating intrigue, hinting at future developments in the superhero landscape.

The Arkham Asylum series has been cancelled!

According to Variety, the series tentatively titled Arkham is no longer in development at Max.

Let us remind you that this series has a very difficult history. Initially, Matt Reeves announced the project in 2020 as a television spin-off of “Batman” about Gotham Police, later the project was transferred to the series about Arkham Asylum and even found writers, and Barry Keoghan’s Joker could almost play the title role there. Later this year, news broke that the project had now moved from the Batman universe to James Gunn's DCU, but Matt Reeves would still produce it and now we've reached the point of the project being cancelled.

It's official: The Penguin series starts on Mach on September 8th!

Lobo could make his debut in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow!

Insider Daniel Richtman says, “There's a role in Supergirl that has Jason Momoa interested. If I had to guess, I'd say it looks a lot like Lobo."
